For a University, Architecture plays a major role in distinguishing itself as a recognized provider of academic excellence and leader in the use of information technology.
A major University in the Middle East realised that there is a need for an online portal as a solution to provide seamless access to resources for students, faculty, and staff via one point of entry on the web, resolve the issue of frustrating stakeholders from logging to different systems, and collect all desired information in one place saving time and effort.
There was no existing integration approach and no single place to collect the whole web services and not all the systems on the web were available to the University community. Prior to this initiative, there was no integration at third party (API) level with outside systems such as email and the calendar.
